Colaiste Aindriu requires all its students to partake in Transition Year (TY), after completing the Junior Cycle. In addition to the Core Subjects our students undertake Sampling Subjects which gives students a basic understanding of a wide range of Leaving Certificate subjects. TY is an excellent opportunity for all students to enjoy learning new skills and broadening horizons.
TY is a year-long programme between the Junior and Senior Cycle which is very important in providing our students with new experiences and allowing them to sample a wide variety of subjects. TY also prepares students better for the Leaving Certificate examination. The core subjects of English, Irish and Mathematics form an important part of TY. The programme is designed to form a solid foundation for Senior Cycle, reinforcing what was learned during the Junior Cycle.
