Local Firms Get Behind School

Muine Bheag Vocational School’s engineering accomplishments of the past few years were highlighted recently at a presentation given by the Acting Principal Jimmy Dermody. The school has a very impressive record in National Championships over the past 20 years. In Engineering  students from the school have achieved the highest accolade  which is the gold medal presented by the Engineering and Technology Teachers association on no less than five occasions.  Students have also scored the highest marks in the country in Technical Drawing.

To encourage the high level of engineering excellence required to support their own businesses in the future, the companies present kindly agreed to provide a bursary for Leaving Certificate students who choose to follow the engineering or electrical path be that at 3rd level or apprenticeship.

When in Roma

By SchoolWise Administrator on 07/03/2017

Recently, 17 students from all years and 5 teachers departed from Muine Bheag Vocational School on an exciting, fun and historically enriching school tour to Rome.

The group smoothly passed through airport security and were in the air before they even knew it. They arrived into Rome just after midday on Tuesday and were greeted by 17 degree heat and clear blue skies. First on the agenda was to buy sun cream and a pair of sunglasses (from the cheap markets of course)!!
