Student Services:

Coláiste Aindriú has a support system in place to facilitate the smooth running of the course programmes. Course Co-ordinators have overall responsibility for the administration of their respective departments. A PLC Student Council is in operation in the school.

Course Content:

Students should note that modules offered on Post Leaving Certificate courses are subject to change. Courses will run subject to enrolment numbers.


Applicants may be interviewed for places on courses.


Students on Post Leaving Certificate courses are eligible for maintenance grants. These are means tested. Students may apply to Co. Carlow VEC for details of financial supports available.

Quality Assurance:

Coláiste Aindriú received its Quality Assurance Agreement from FETAC. We have agreed policies and procedures with FETAC to assure the quality of our programmes and services.


To be eligible for V.T.O.S. you must be over 21 years of age and six months on a Social Welfare payment by the start date of your course. Qualifying payments include Unemployment Assistance, Unemployment Benefit, One Parent Family Payment, Disability Allowance/Benefit, Adult Dependant Allowance. Applicants on other Social Welfare payments may qualify for V.T.O.S., subject to sanction from their Social Welfare section. This allows people to retain their social welfare benefits and return to full-time education. They receive book and material allowances and may be eligible for childcare allowances.

Work Experience:

Work Experience is a compulsory element of all PLC courses offered in Muine Bheag Vocational School.

Mature Students:

Mature students (over 21 years) make a very significant contribution to the school. They are assured of a warm and friendly welcome on all courses. There are no formal entry requirements for mature students. Coláiste Aindriú is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all our students. It is committed to supporting any student with particular needs.

Career Guidance Service:

Career Guidance/Counselling service is available to all students completing a course in Coláiste Aindriú. The role of the career guidance service is to assist and guide students in making career choices. This service is offered to students on a one-to-one basis.


The school is well served with three networked computer rooms and these are constantly developed and upgraded to assist students in their training. There is Internet access on all computers. The school also has a state of the art Woodwork Room, Metalwork Room, Kitchen and Art Room. All practical rooms are equipped with the latest equipment and resources. The school also has a state of the art gym which may be used by students by arrangement.
